Top 5 Communication Apps Performance in the Middle East Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the Middle East saw varied performance among the top communication apps on a unified platform, with data provided by Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence in the region with weekly downloads peaking at approximately 434K in early February. Active users remained stable, hovering around 60M throughout the quarter.

Snapchat generated significant revenue, reaching around $1.45M in late February. Downloads fluctuated, starting at 249K and closing the quarter at 259K, while active users peaked at about 27.7M in the same period.

Telegram experienced a rise in revenue, culminating at roughly $323K by the end of March. The app's downloads saw a modest increase towards the end of the quarter, finishing at 226K, with active users slightly declining to around 28.3M.

WhatsApp Business showed consistent revenue growth, peaking at approximately $54K in late February. Downloads remained steady, ending March at 204K, while active users saw a slight decrease, closing at 17.7M.

Finally, imo-International Calls & Chat had a mixed quarter with revenue peaking at around $122K in February. Downloads fluctuated, reaching 238K at the end of March, and active users rose slightly to about 16.7M.
